Self Worth, self confidence and enhanced performance can be greatly improved when we affirm ourselves regularly. Affirmations can be things we believe to be true about ourselves, things we would like to be true about ourselves, reminders of how we would like to be, or they can take the form of positive visualizations - Imagining that we are successful in a particular area.   • Today I will realize that I am not my job, my past, my clothes or my socio-economic status. When I think along these lines, I mistake the objects I own for myself, and my self worth.

  • Today I will pay attention to what I say to my children. My children trust me and believe in what I say. I will not use this trust to manipulate them or to fill my own needs.

    4. Today I will educate myself. My own personal growth is important. Today I choose to enlighten my mind by learning something new.

    5. Today I will forgive myself freely. I will accept my imperfections and I will feel pleased with my efforts to achieve.

    6. Today I will experience life. I will learn from my mistakes and experience growth. I will find joy in little things and I will experience peace. I will smile from the inside and I will experience the beauty within my soul.

    7. Today I will find something beautiful. If I am to lift myself above the drudgery that often brings me down, I have to focus my thoughts on something higher up. Today I will find something uplifting in my life to focus on.

    For Parents

    2. Children are entitled to hear their parents' honest feelings. By describing what we feel, we can be genuine without being harmful. Today I will let my child know how I feel.

    3. Violence is learned. When I hit my children. I am teaching them that it is OK to vent their frustration and anger onto others with violence. Today I will teach my children a better way to deal with their frustrations.

    4. The fox gazed at the little prince, for a long time. "Please tame me!" he said.
      "I want to, very much," the little prince replied. "But I have not much time. I have friends to discover, and a great many things to understand." ...
      "One only understands the things that one tames," said the fox...
      "What must I do to tame you?" asked the little prince.
      "You must be very patient," replied the fox.
      Today I will be patient with my child. I will place him/her in the highest of my priorities and I will make the best of our short time together.

    5. Today I will give myself space to breath. I understand that if I am to be an effective parent, I must first take care of myself, allow myself time to recuperate or to rest. Today I will take care of myself.

    6. Today I will find good in each of my children. I will tell them what it is about them that I am pleased with and I will acknowledge my love for them. I understand that positive parenting brings positive results. Today I will find something to be positive about.

    7. Today I will listen to my children. I will allow myself to hear their feelings without correcting them and I will listen to their chatter without reprimanding them. Today I will relax and enjoy their childishness.

    Spiritual Affirmations

    1. Today I will think of others and do what I can. - "It is in giving that we receive." - The Bible

    2. "Soul is ultimately love." --Thomas Moore-- My soul was created with love, with purpose and with the intent that I emulate the love given to me. Today I will foster the love in my soul.

    3. Today I will be an example to those around me by staying true to my values. I will not be afraid to stand up for what I believe.

    4. Today I will forgive. I know that by forgiving others, I am giving a gift to myself. I will be lifted to a higher plain and I will feel freedom from my anger.

    5. Today I will have faith. When everything seems as if it will never get better, I will remember who I am and where I am going. I will allow my faith to carry me through and I will not let worry take control of my life.

    6. Today I will spread love everywhere I go. I will remember what Mother teresa said: "Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your smile, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your warm greeting."

    7. Today I will be grateful. With humility I recognize the blessings I've been given and I give thanks.
