Self Worth, self confidence
and enhanced performance can be greatly improved when
we affirm ourselves regularly. Affirmations can be things
we believe to be true about ourselves, things we would
like to be true about ourselves, reminders of how we would
like to be, or they can take the form of positive visualizations
- Imagining that we are successful in a particular area.
Look through the choices below and select an affirmation
that is right for you today.

For Everyone
- I will welcome the moment and the
richness that lies within it. - "Look to today for
it is life - the very life of life." Sanskrit poem
- "In the midst of winter, I found
within me an invincible summer." --Albet Camus--
Today I will look for something good in my life to
be grateful for. I have power within me to make the
best of my life.
- I am beautiful. I will appreciate
myself the way I am. I don't need society to dictate
how I should look or how I should feel; I love me.
- Today I will educate myself. My own
personal growth is important. Today I choose to enlighten
my mind by learning something new.
- Today I will forgive myself freely.
I will accept my imperfections and I will feel pleased
with my efforts to achieve.
- Today I will experience life. I will
learn from my mistakes and experience growth. I will
find joy in little things and I will experience peace.
I will smile from the inside and I will experience
the beauty within my soul.
- Today I will find something beautiful.
If I am to lift myself above the drudgery that often
brings me down, I have to focus my thoughts on something
higher up. Today I will find something uplifting in
my life to focus on.
For Parents
- I will honor my child's drive toward
separation - "You may house their bodies but not their
souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
Which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."
- Kahil Gibran
- Children are entitled to hear their
parents' honest feelings. By describing what we feel,
we can be genuine without being harmful. Today I will
let my child know how I feel.
- Violence is learned. When I hit my
children. I am teaching them that it is OK to vent
their frustration and anger onto others with violence.
Today I will teach my children a better way to deal
with their frustrations.
- The fox gazed at the little prince,
for a long time. "Please tame me!" he said.
"I want to, very much," the little prince replied.
"But I have not much time. I have friends to discover,
and a great many things to understand." ...
"One only understands the things that one tames,"
said the fox...
"What must I do to tame you?" asked the little prince.
"You must be very patient," replied the fox.
Today I will be patient with my child. I will place
him/her in the highest of my priorities and I will
make the best of our short time together.
- Today I will give myself space to
breath. I understand that if I am to be an effective
parent, I must first take care of myself, allow myself
time to recuperate or to rest. Today I will take care
of myself.
- Today I will find good in each of
my children. I will tell them what it is about them
that I am pleased with and I will acknowledge my love
for them. I understand that positive parenting brings
positive results. Today I will find something to be
positive about.
- Today I will listen to my children.
I will allow myself to hear their feelings without
correcting them and I will listen to their chatter
without reprimanding them. Today I will relax and
enjoy their childishness.
Spiritual Affirmations
- Today I will think of others and
do what I can. - "It is in giving that we receive."
- The Bible
- "Soul is ultimately love." --Thomas
Moore-- My soul was created with love, with purpose
and with the intent that I emulate the love given
to me. Today I will foster the love in my soul.
- Today I will be an example to those
around me by staying true to my values. I will not
be afraid to stand up for what I believe.
- Today I will forgive. I know that
by forgiving others, I am giving a gift to myself.
I will be lifted to a higher plain and I will feel
freedom from my anger.
- Today I will have faith. When everything
seems as if it will never get better, I will remember
who I am and where I am going. I will allow my faith
to carry me through and I will not let worry take
control of my life.
- Today I will spread love everywhere
I go. I will remember what Mother teresa said: "Spread
love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house.
Give love to your children, to your wife or husband,
to a next door neighbor... let no one ever come to
you without leaving better and happier. Be the living
expression of God's kindness; kindness in your smile,
kindness in your eyes, kindness in your warm greeting."
- Today I will be grateful. With humility
I recognize the blessings I've been given and I give
thanks.
