- Those who cohabited prior to marriage are twice
as likely to divorce than those who have not (Balalrishnan
et al, 1987).
- In 1960 in the U.S., 95% of all babies born were born
to married mothers, whereas in 1990, about two-thirds
of the births were to married mothers (Department of
Health and Human Services, 1995, cited in White, 2000).
- The average woman speaks about 5,000 words a day;
the average man speaks only 1,500 words a day.
